In the following I briefly describe some of the projects and conference presentations I have been working on in the past.
This list will be expanded as I will start working on more interesting projects.
If you want to know more about me and the work I do please feel free to drop me an email or check out my LinkedIn profile.

The Mu
Made In Mind is a british startup that produces and distributes The Mu - a portable and foldable USB Adapter. I worked on a partial redesign of their site www.themu.co.uk. Our goal was to increase the conversion rate by creating a more engaging and persuasive user experience. I sketched out, wireframed and finally created a high-fidelity prototype for a re-designed home page, a new checkout process and a new page dedicated to testimonials and awards.

NetJets Europe - Heuristic Evaluation
As part of the NetJets Europe web maintenance I conducted a heuristic evaluation of www.netjetseurope.com to judge the sites’ compliance with recognised usability principles.

AEGON Transamerica Life Bermuda
Created a prototype in Axure RP for AEGON Transamerica Life Bermuda, a brochureware site for life insurance products that AEGON targets at high net worth individuals. In terms of the users' experience it was all about the sophistication and quality feel.

Aral.de - remote usability testing
For BP we worked on a redesign of BP.com and of Aral.de. I was involved in the usability testing phase in which we wanted to compare the current german website of Aral to our prototype of the proposed re-design. It was decided to conduct the usability test remotely with 100 test participants from Germany, divided into several user groups. I was involved in the creation of the test script where we defined and formulated the tasks that users were supposed to work on. Afterwards I set up the actual test in a remote usability testing tool called UserZoom. When the user testing was finished, i.e. the desired number of participants had been reached the next step was to analyse the the gathered data (quantitative as well as qualitative data) and write a report about key findings and give recommendations for improvement of identified issues.

SSE Plato
SSE is a british electric utility company with its headquarter in Scotland and is the second largest supplier of electricity in the United Kingdom, and the UK’s largest generator of renewable energy.
SSE Plato is a mobile customer-, prospect-, sales- and record-management-tool for the SSE advisor.
I have been involved in this project for 3 months, most of the time working from the Poland office but collaborating closely with the UX team in the UK to create a high-fidelity prototype of the application. Regular internal stand-ups and meetings with the stakeholders to present the current state of work were held in order to ensure that all requirements were met and that we were on the right track.

Canon One Service
Canon One Service is an internal application that Canon uses to manage service requests they receive from clients and partners regarding Canon devices.
I spent several weeks in London to work close with the project team and client representatives to continue the UX design that had been done previously. I took over an Axure prototype from a colleague at Fortune Cookie and continued to complete this deliverable.

Legal & General - Workplace savings
The Legal & General Group Plc is a multinational financial services company based in Britain. I was part of a team working on a new module about workplace savings within Legal & General’s content heavy website. I have created a sitemap in order to show the structure of the site and a use flow diagram to show the path that users are likely to take through the site. The next step was to create wireframes based on the sitemap as well as on the use flow diagram. Tools used were Omnigraffle to visualise the sitemap and the user flow diagram and Axure RP to create a low-fidelity prototype.

Domestic & General - Website redesign
Domestic & General provides warranty services for UK and international clients.
The project was about re-desinging their current www.domgen.com and my task was to create a high-fidelity prototype for their mew site. I worked closely with the project team in London and joined regular meetings with the client to present our current progress and to get feedback. Documenting and annotating the prototype to describe how interactions are supposed to work was an important part of my work as well in order to support the development team. The prototyping tool used was Axure RP.

Conference presentations:
World Usability Day 2011 Wroclaw
In November 2011 I took the chance to visit the World Usability Day in Wroclaw to listen to very interesting presentations, e.g. from Rolf Molich, but also to give a presentation myself.
My presentation had the title "How to use the Keystroke Level Model to measure and compare the efficiency of user interfaces".
I presented a simple yet very effective way to predict the duration of task execution times for frequently executed tasks. This becomes important for efficiency based applications, e.g. call-center applications where expert users do the same task over and over again. In such cases a difference of only a couple of seconds in the time that it takes a user to accomplish a certain goal using an user interface can either cause a reduction of costs or increased costs.
During my presentation I gave an introduction to GOMS (Goals, Operators, Methods, Selection rules) - a cognitive modeling technique that analyses the user complexity of interactive systems. GOMS is actually a family of techniques. I focused on one of the family members - the Keystroke-Level Model (KLM).

Univeristy of Economy in Katowice - 2nd International Week
The University of Katowice organised their International Week again in April 2012. The goal of this event is to convey practical knowledge to the students by inviting speakers to talk about their job and about their field of work.
One day of this International has been devoted to new media and I was lucky to have the opportunity to give a presentation about the characteristics of mobile user experience design as compared to conducting UX work for more traditional devices.
